Abstract

Aaron Lauritzen addressed environmental degradation caused by hikers veering off designated paths. Motivated by his connection to a cherished hiking trail, he adopted an innovative strategy integrating perspectives from environmental science, behavioral psychology, and communication studies. Through meticulous time management and a proactive approach to seeking inspiration, He was able to craft two high-quality PSA videos, an informative infographic, and a story-driven blog post. The campaign's success, measured by metrics such as views, impressions, and website visits, surpasses expectations, reaching approximately 44,000 individuals and gaining coverage on local news. The project's impact extends to hikers, local communities, and environmental organizations, fostering awareness and responsible hiking practices. This project genuinely impacted the individuals in the community and enabled many learning outcomes for the creator of the project.
