Abstract
This teach-in was presented by Dr. Jill Gill of the Department of History at Boise State University on November 2, 2017.
Was the Aryan Nations’ arrival in Idaho (C. 1970s-2000) merely the work of outsiders—an unwanted invasion by out-of-state racists who misrepresented and shamed Idahoans in the eyes of the nation? Or were they part of a larger trend that tied Idaho to the confederate South consistently throughout its history? And where does Idaho most strongly align today: with the forces of human rights or with that of white backlash? Let’s glance at historical patterns, so you can decide.
