Abstract
Bella's Diabetic Journal takes you on a journey with Bella, a 12 year old diabetic Bassett Hound cross. A five part blog was written and published over the course of one month. The goal of the journal is to engage with the public and relate to those who have pets who have diabetes, spread knowledge about diabetes and pets, and pet insurance.
This presentation shows the purpose of the blog, the creative process utilized, and presents emotional intelligence. The blog includes topics such as an introduction to Bella, her signs and symptoms, the diagnosis, the process of administering insulin and testing blood glucose, and a research study on Pet Insurance.
