Abstract

For my Capstone Project, I chose a project that would benefit others. The idea started when my parents expressed an interest in getting their driver’s licenses in the State of Idaho, but they would need my help to understand the Idaho Driver’s Handbook. I came to realize any Vietnamese Idahoans who have similar language challenges would appreciate having the same help from their family and friends. I picked a service project that will continue to benefit Vietnamese Idahoans for years to come – I translated the Idaho Driver’s Handbook into Vietnamese.

I am very happy with the result. It took me four weeks to completely translated the Idaho Driver’s Handbook into Vietnamese. Then I created twelve practice quizzes for motor vehicles and five practice quizzes for bicycle safety. I then bought 100 UBSs and uploaded all of them with the book, the quizzes, and the answer keys. I gifted 49 USBs to the Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in Boise - Linh Thứu Thiền Tự, another 49 USBs to the Vietnamese Church – Peace in Jesus Lutheran Church, and the final 2 USBs to Idaho Transportation Department.
