Abstract

I completed a service learning project restoring a set of viewing bleachers for the local non-profit organization, The Magic Valley Motocross Association (MVMX). Over the last year MVMX has been slowly building a motocross track for the local and regional motocross community. In order to share our passion for motocross with the general public, the viewing bleachers needed severe restoration before being considered safe for use. The goal was to meet specific standards of safety for use and reduce liability concerns on the organization. The project was successfully completed with a small team of fabricators and volunteers and we are looking forward to seeing the bleachers be used next motocross racing season.
