Abstract

This study administered a comprehensive evaluation through a questionnaire which investigated the prevalence of body dysmorphia in male and female college athletes in comparison to college students. Participants were to fill out a questionnaire and their body composition was assessed through hydrostatic weighing, DEXA scans, and Bioimpedance. In conclusion correlations were run and found that body dysmorphia is linked to an unhealthy body composition. It was also found that students at Lewis-Clark State College on average did not struggle with body dysmorphia, but when they did it was statistically among student females.
