Abstract

I researched the user experience of an online communication software for my UX Capstone project. This software enables businesses to respond to many online reviews automatically. I analyzed the software for usability improvements. This research is important because it challenges assumptions and provides solutions. I was asked to focus on the onboarding process, usability improvements and software value. I started my process with semi-structured interviews and direct observations with employees and users. Using contextual inquiry - interviews while users were using the software - helped me understand their pain points and suggestions.

The user interface is the most important part of the software. 100% of users prefer using only the basic features and want upgrades later. This software offers double the value offered by competitors because it replies to all social media reviews from one platform. However, communication within the software platform needs to be improved to prevent use of third-party applications. The interface could be improved if all the main features were on one page because often users don't explore the full range of functions. The most fundamental problem I identified was a need for more efficient UI user interface tools. Zoom in on my poster please.
