Western Writers Online was a short-lived peer-reviewed journal and research hub devoted to authoritative, accessible scholarship on the writers of the North American West. Between 2013 and 2015 we published original, peer-reviewed articles and links to resources illuminating the lives and works of western authors. In 2015, we migrated our four scholarly articles here to Boise State University’s Scholarworks for archiving. Articles are available for free download by clicking on titles below. Western Writers Online was sponsored by Boise State University, a project of the Hemingway Western Studies Center and the BSU Digital Humanities initiative. WWO inherited the scholarly mission of the Boise State University Western Writers Series (1972-2006), a publisher of booklet-length introductions to western writers. WWO editors were Tara Penry (Boise State University), Donald Barclay (University of California, Merced), and Jennifer Adkison (Henderson State University).
