Abstract
In this project, we propose an alternative approach to current nuclear waste management through the utilization of Glass Crystalline Materials (GCM). By harnessing distinct crystalline and vitreous matrices, GCM offers excellent chemical durability and structural stability. These materials are produced using different methods of sintering, each method resulting in unique outcomes. This technique has the potential to immobilize various types of radioactive and chemically hazardous waste for long term confinement without the release of toxins into the environment, thereby contributing to the enhancement of safety and sustainability in nuclear waste disposal practices.
