Abstract
Wage inflation in the Treasure Valley intrigues economists, particularly as highly-skilled positions continue to be in high demand across our region. Our research objective is to determine the role of wage inflation with highly-skilled workers across the tech, medical, legal, and skill-driven positions. We will analyze pre-COVID wage trends to effectively draw conclusions to be used in future policy recommendations. The significant population boom and investments from several corporations (Micron, Amazon, etc.) and government entities (Idaho National Lab) across the region play a role in the wage inflation and our goal is to determine exactly how significant this inflation is and what we expect in the decades and years to come.
