Attending scientific conferences can be daunting to a student at any stage in their academic career, but by planning ahead and engaging in several important tasks, the experience can be beneficial and less stressful. We provide tips to help undergraduates make the most out of a professional conference. We highlight various activities that should be done prior to, during and after the conference that will maximize what students can get out of a conference. These include planning for sessions and talks, seeking support from your research advisor and establishing and maintaining networks to further your academic career.
