Abstract
In my work “So Surely We Live and Other Stories,” you will find people with their backs against the walls of themselves. Delusions addressed or sunken deeper into, emotional pains reacted to poorly, and bad situations getting worse. Hard love, cornfields, and animals. A place and a people that feed off one another and also impair one another. It operates in short stories, but these ideas bleed through it as a whole.
