Abstract
Writing theorists have long searched for evaluation techniques that would provide students with helpful and meaningful response. In their attempt to discover useful methods, theorists have crossed interdisciplinary lines and implemented approaches from communication, psychology, sociology, history, and linguistics. The theories and perspectives gained from these fields of study have contributed to a major paradigm shift in composition theory.
