Abstract
The Internet has become a virtual place for people to meet and socialize. This ever-expanding electronic universe has opened countless opportunities for potential friendships. Historically, people, academically as well as personally, have questioned whether the Internet could serve as a viable venue for friendship formation. Despite this criticism people are making online friends. This thesis describes such friendship formation potential in its investigation of one online game called Ever Quest.
