Employee Wellness Program
Type of Culminating Activity
Student research paper
In my time being an employee at a small company in Idaho, I realized that there lacked a type of recognition program that honored employees. A lot of businesses in modern day, don’t truly take the time to value their employees hard work and dedication to the company. While my employer doesn’t fit this category 100%, I wanted to introduce an employee recognition program of some sort that completed the needs and wants from an employee point of view. I presented a brochure to my employer, that proposed a wellness program to include incentives that better the health and wellness of the employees. Something like this, in turn, would create happier and healthier employees, retaining the number of people that stay with the company. In my research, I found that people are more likely to stay with a business if they feel valued. Again, many organizations lack that which causes high turnover rates in employment. The feedback I received was almost fully supportive and positive, as the cost of some proposed things need to be adjusted. This employee wellness program is the start of something fresh and new for my employer and will hopefully continue to see the benefits of it in the long run.
