Abstract

The purpose of this video is to share my story about my educational journey through to the completion of my bachelor's degree.

I am a non-traditional student who started my college journey when I finished high school in 1978. After raising a family and developing a successful real estate career, I decided to complete what I had started many decades ago. In the fall of 2021, I enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Professional Studies (IPS) program at Boise State University. For the last two and a half years I have continued to work full-time in the real estate industry while taking the required coursework needed to complete the IPS degree with a certificate in conflict management.

I live in a small town that does not have a university. With the help of my advisor at BSU, I was made aware of the IPS online program. This was the key element that made completing my degree possible. On December 16th of this year, I will participate in the commencement ceremony at Boise State University where I will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
