Abstract
In an effort to prevent and raise awareness to prescription drug abuse, Connect the Pieces with Supportive Housing and Innovative Partnerships has developed an interactive, educational video game for children. At the end of the game, the child and guardians fill out a short survey and take a pledge. The data from the surveys is collected and analyzed to measure the knowledge and awareness adults in the community have with regards to the safety and abuse of prescription medications. The survey was launched late November, and although the sample size is small, there are some very noteworthy findings. These findings have been put into a PowerPoint which will be presented at Terry Reilly, Idaho State University Pharmacy School, and many more locations. Hopefully Boise State University Undergraduate Research Convention.
