Abstract
The Global Scholars Program is a international service learning project. We partnered with two Australian social enterprises to study their business models and platforms which helps the improvement of the Great Barrier Reef. This was an opportunity to actively address socio-economic and environmental issues with consultancy work. We used mixed methods research doing observations, survey, semi-structured interviews and market archival research. This piece emphasizes the graduate student perspective on this program and how business models can alleviate environmental issues. It highlights the importance of making a lasting impact between collective business models and government intervention.
