Submission Guidelines for Geosciences Undergraduate Theses

Who Can Submit

The Geosciences Undergraduate Theses collection only publishes undergraduate geoscience theses that are approved by associated committee chairs for inclusion in the ScholarWorks repository. Before you Submit!

Please make sure the document you are submitting contains the following elements:
  • Final desired title;
  • Your name as you officially want it entered;
  • Publication date;
  • Names and titles of Committee Chair(s) and committee members (ex. John Doe, Ph.D.);
  • Abstract
    • In your submission request please provide the following:
    • Keywords (6 max) that reflect the main subject matter of your research;
    • Funding information regarding your project, if any

    And finally, an email from the Committee Chair must be sent to Scholarworks@boisestate.edu granting permission for your thesis and any additional documents, to be added to the ScholarWorks repository and be publicly disseminated. This is necessary for our records.

    Types of Files Accepted

    Papers

    Make sure your document(s) are in an acceptable format. We can accept papers in Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format (RTF), or Adobe Acrobat (PDF - preferred).

    If you use a word-processing program other than Microsoft Word, look for an "Export" or "Save as" option in the program you are using and save the document as an RTF file. If you have questions, please contact ScholarWorks@boisestate.edu

    All images on your paper should have alternative text (alt text) applied to them.

    Posters

    All posters must be saved as a *.pdf file. Any images within the poster content must have alternative text (alt text) applied to them.

    Slide Decks

    All primary images on your slides should have alternative text (alt text) applied to them.

    Save your slide deck as a PDF

    Videos

    Submit a video by emailing it to Scholarworks@boisestate.edu. Include in your message which collection this is for and the title of the submitted project it is connected to. Video files must be in an *.MP4 format. If a file is too large, please provide a download link.

    In addition, a caption file is also needed and must be in *.SRT file format. For more information contact Scholarworks@boisestate.edu.

    The Submission Process

    After you submit your information and documents, your submission will be reviewed. You will be notified by e-mail if any adjustments need to be made.

    You will also receive an email message once your work is officially posted.

    After Posting

    If you have any questions or would like to post a revised version of your materials on the site after the record has been officially posted, please contact the repository manager at Scholarworks@boisestate.edu and possible options can be discussed.
