Abstract
Our research intends to examine the extent to which tourism and travel affect Boise’s local economy. As part of this study, we will collect data and generate location and density maps. The maps can then be used to analyze geospatial data in conjunction with traffic routes to estimate the impact, as well as inform stakeholders’ expectations about the future. We will also examine the revenues that these tourist destinations generate and conduct preliminary data analysis. Our analysis will also include stakeholder interviews, such as the Boise Chamber of Commerce, vendors in the tourism industry and local tourist event organizers.
