Artist Statement
I am exploring a past abusive relationship though my work. Hopefully I can explain to others how it felt and help them identify within their own relationships these symptoms. I created this web comic initially to be cathartic experience for me personally, but it had developed as something more. After the relationship, I connected deeply with friends who I had not known experienced the same kinds of abuse. This has helped me heal. The straw on the camel’s back when I decided to leave my boyfriend was internet information about abusive behavior. I want to help others identify abuse for themselves in a web format that is personal and engaging to read.
