Artist Statement

In my work, my focus is to create something that is experiential and immersive, acting as an environment or a window into another space. This body of work has developed as an exploration of the separate elements that make up our visual experience of the physical world, namely depth, motion, color, light/shadow and scale. These elements are represented by the use of line, plane, overlap and contrast, and are explored in a variety of media. The goal with these elements is to elicit a response that is physiological rather then purely analytical, engaging the viewer on an instinctive level and allowing them to momentarily shut out the everyday noise of life.
