Why do I study Chinese?
Abstract
I study Chinese because I believe that it is valuable to understand. Communication with a culture that contains one third the world’s population is important. Being a history major, the depth and scope of Chinese history also gives much appreciation to me. It helps me understand a culture which I have studied very little. Studying Chinese will be a valuable skill I when I enter the professional world.
