The Act Now Project

Associated with Boise State University’s Campus Read book, Half the Sky, the Act Now Project was an opportunity to create a more engaged community by bringing an awareness on human rights and some of the world’s unpleasant and difficult realities. The following juried art exhibit was housed in the Albertsons Library from April 16th – May 16th of 2014 and curated by John Francis, Associate Professor of Graphic Design for Boise State’s Art Department, Faith Beyer Hansen, Assistant Director for Faculty and Community Engagement for the Service-Learning Program, and Professor Riley Caldwell-O'Keefe of Boise State's Theatre Department. The artworks were additionally inspired by The United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted on 10 December 1948 and created as a direct result of WWII. The individual art pieces represent a particular article in the declaration which was chosen by the artist.
