Abstract

Presently there is no standard for how raw LCD screens are connected, every manufacturer does it differently. This makes it a real challenge to test LCD screens when they are acquired without first building a custom tester for the different connections. An easy to use portable system is needed to allow for safe universal testing amongst all of the different types of LCD screens using LVDS protocol. A circuit board was designed using Altium and the PIC was programmed using C. The final device will be easy to use, portable, and durable. The device will have ESD protection along with protective circuitry to prevent damage to the device due to improper connections. This device will also be able to store different images at variable resolutions. With this device the testing of raw LCDs will become a lot simpler.
