Abstract

This research was part of a larger project that explored consumer perceptions and usage of AI. In this presentation, we focus on how people perceive the impact of AI on future education and professional careers. We collected survey data from 226 respondents. Our sample was evenly split between men and women, with ages ranging from 18-65+. Our results show that the younger generation (18-25 years old) are a lot more concerned with how AI might affect their careers and their future compared to the older generation (26 and over) already in the workforce. Additionally, people with undergraduate degrees believe that AI will revolutionize education much more compared to people with high school diplomas or less, and people with post-graduate degrees. Additional analyses of the data are in progress.
