Abstract

In young adults ages 18-24, social media shapes behaviors and perceptions. As it has progressed, there are both beneficial and negative consequences to persistent exposure to social media. This study examines the impact of social media influencer marketing on young adult health by analyzing peer-reviewed articles and studies that support media marketing, along with those highlighting its negative effects. The expectation is that many young adults receive inaccurate information, leading to health washing, where products are falsely promoted as healthy without delivering the promised results. This topic holds significant importance for both current and future young adults, influencing self-image, access to reliable information, financial decisions, and overall well-being.
