Abstract

In today’s society, we see a gap between an individual's knowledge of their dietary restrictions and convenient access to nutritional food. People with specific diets, such as Celiac and Vegan based lifestyles, are faced with the grueling process of reading every ingredient on every package. This makes going to the grocery store an extremely difficult process and the risk of contamination high. We want to create a product that would make life easier for those with dietary restrictions. This product will be an app that has brand, product, and ingredient recognition. Individuals will enter their health conditions or dietary restrictions into a personal profile through the app; their recommended products will stem from licensed nutritionist’s advice. Using Artificial Intelligence, one can scan a grocery aisle or individual products and a green check (generated from augmented reality technology) will appear if it fits one's dietary needs. This way people can get the most out of their time and continue to eat nutritional food that won’t harm them. Convenience is key!
