Abstract
Recently, the "Double Reduction" policy has been introduced by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council. It has not only provided strong policy support for the promotion of sports and health for the whole society but also provided a "safety net" for the healthy development of children and adolescents. To some extent, it has curbed the continuous decline in the physical health of adolescents in China. However, the biggest weakness in the healthy growth of adolescents lies in the community, where there is often a lack of sufficient sports facilities and organized activities. Therefore, there is an urgent need to conduct in-depth research to improve the community support system and promote the comprehensive development of adolescents. Based on this, through methods such as literature review, questionnaire survey, interview, and mathematical statistics, we conducted a survey and analysis on the current situation of adolescents’ sports participation in 51 communities in Xinjian District, Wanli District, Honggutan District, and other areas of Nanchang. The results show that the "Double Reduction" policy has provided more opportunities and time for adolescents to participate in community activities, and their participation in sports activities has increased significantly. The demand for community sports projects among young people is diverse, but badminton is particularly popular. The difficulties faced by adolescents in participating in community sports mainly include social and time barriers, a mismatch between sports resources supply and demand, and conflicts in time and space, as well as insufficient innovation in smart community sports. Conclusions/Discussions: The “Double Reduction” policy has increased adolescents’ opportunities and time for community sports, with badminton being particularly popular. However, participation is still hindered by social and time barriers, resource mismatches, spatiotemporal conflicts, and insufficient innovation in intelligent community sports. Countermeasures: The participation of adolescents in community sports in Nanchang has shifted from "facility-driven" to "demand-driven". Breakthroughs are needed in three dimensions: precise supply of team sports projects, adolescent-friendly community sports transformation, and upgrading of smart community sports. Only in this way can we achieve a leap from "quantitative participation" to "qualitative health improvement" in community sports for adolescents.
