Abstract
The current research reviews on Fitness Qigong Wuqinxi mostly focus on a single have not yet formed a systematic overview of the research progress at home and abroad. This study aims to investigate the development trend of domestic and international research on Wuqinxi in the past 20 years, to provide a reference for subsequent studies. Based on the 156 documents included in Web of Science and China Knowledge Network (CNKI) from 2005 to 2025, CiteSpace software was used to visualize and analyze the annual trend of publications, core authors, institutional cooperation networks, and research hotspots. (1) The number of domestic Wuqinxi publications was significantly correlated with the social environment and policy orientation, and foreign studies lagged behind domestic ; (2) The density of domestic and foreign core authors' cooperation networks was low: the largest domestic cooperation group was the team of Shih Xiaolin from the Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on the research of Wuqinxi on the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis; the foreign core group was the team of Wang Zhen from the School of Martial Arts of the Shanghai Physical Education College, which was focusing on the research of the effects of Wuqinxi on Parkinson's disease38; (3) Research institutions are concentrated in university hospitals and sports schools; (4) There differences in research hotspots at home and abroad: domestic focus on "bone density", "middle-aged and elderly people" and other medical interventions, while foreign countries pay attention to "health care", "treatment of diseases" and other applications; (5) Research topics focused on the medical value of Wuqinxi and the benefits of physical and mental health. However, domestic research focuses on traditional medical verification, while foreign research favors clinical application exploration. In the past 20 years, the number of articles published on Wuqinxi has increased steadily, and its unique medical effects have been scientifically verified. It is recommended to strengthen the research on the application of Wuqinxi as a non-pharmacological therapy in the treatment of clinical diseases, and at the same time, to promote the deepening of academic cooperation at home and abroad.
