Abstract
This study examined the efficacy of virtual reality (VR) technology in enhancing tennis skill training, with an emphasis on three pivotal aspects: competition simulation, real-time feedback, and comprehensive assessment. As technological advancements continue to permeate sports training, VR presents novel opportunities for augmenting athletic performance by facilitating more engaging and effective training methodologies. Employing a systematic review of the extant literature, our research identified key components of VR that beneficially impact tennis training. This exploration includes the application of VR in generating immersive competition simulations, offering immediate and personalized feedback, and conducting extensive evaluations utilizing artificial intelligence and big data analytics. Additionally, qualitative feedback from professional trainers and athletes who have integrated VR into their training routines was analyzed to assess its practical impacts. Our findings revealed that VR significantly enriches the training experience by providing athletes with realistic match simulations that enhance their proficiency in managing high-pressure situations. The instantaneous feedback offered by VR enables athletes to correct their techniques in real time, a capability that conventional training methods may neglect. For a comprehensive assessment, the integration of VR with AI offers detailed analytics, which facilitates a deeper understanding of athletes' performance dynamics. Notably, athletes reported enhancements in their reaction times, decision-making capabilities, and overall competitive preparedness. The implications of VR technology in tennis skill training are profound, demonstrating substantial benefits in replicating realistic sports environments and integrating sensory feedback systems that accelerate learning and adaptability among athletes. Future research should focus on the integration of VR into regular training regimes and the development of personalized training modules tailored to the specific needs of athletes. The potential applicability of VR systems across various sports and training contexts also merits further investigation. This study highlights the transformative potential of VR in revolutionizing traditional training methods, providing a versatile, efficient, and interactive training platform. However, the adoption of VR in sports training programs faces challenges, including the high costs associated with VR equipment and the specialized training required to utilize such technologies effectively. These limitations present crucial areas for future research and development in the broader implementation of VR in sports training.
