Abstract

The ongoing progress in semiconductor device technology has motivated the great effort to improve detailed models of such devices. COMSOL is a powerful tool that is used to simulate semiconductor devices and takes into consideration both the electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices as well as all the physical aspects. This work focuses on modeling nano-crystalline silicon thin-film transistors (nc-si TFTs). Nc-si TFTs have become popular in applications for large-area electronics and displays. The TFT simulation is based on measured data obtained from fabricated TFTs. The model design as well as outputs such as electric potential and I-V characteristics are presented.
