Abstract
My work is investigating the body as object, and the influence of objects. I am making the choice to separate the body from the self.
I am thinking about the bodies in these paintings as objects that have been manipulated to the point of becoming radical objects (any person who has been reduced to an object who is taking their objectness to an extreme that departs from the function of their original objectness). The manipulation to these bodies are based on ideologies about female sexuality and beauty, taken to the extreme, at which point they repel sexuality and regain control.
