Abstract
Ada County has proposed building a waste to energy plant by the landfill. This plant will give Ada County another power resource. If this plant is built, Ada County will see more traffic from Seattle, WA as this is the major Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) source for the incineration plant. The waste will consist mainly of tires and other MSW. With the incineration process there are several health and environmental impacts from the particulate emissions, gasses and acidic ash. Based on the potential health impacts, environmental impacts and increase in traffic, we do not think this plant is in the best interest of Ada County.
