Represented here by the means of sculpture are major and minor life events such as trauma, growth, loss, and joy. From the residual grief that comes from the loss of my father as a child to dealing with anxiety throughout my life, my work is an abstract expression of emotion and memory represented in graphic objects. Wish You Were Here deals with the longing to know my father whose Pentax camera has become incredibly important to me, an object of nostalgia and wonder. Meltdown is a depiction of anxiety and depression; represented by glistening melting popsicles. Seeker represents the growth that is constantly taking place, adapting to change instead of resisting or fearing. My work tries to balance difficult subjects with soft pastel colors while focusing on embracing femininity and growing through personal traumas and triumphs.
