Artist Statement
If you have ever worked customer service or retail you will understand the rollercoaster of emotions you deal with on a daily basis. I have the pleasure of not only working in a convenience store but I also man the night or graveyard shift as it is fondly referred as. The experience I have while dealing with the general public inspire me in my art and with this particular piece I wanted to challenge myself, not only technically but with a new medium. This animation shows those few emotions I go through during my shifts. Being so close to downtown and especially working on the weekends the two hours after midnight in particular are the most straining and yet when 2 am hits I can't help but feel the slightest bit of satisfaction.
