Abstract

Harvey’s lecture recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, which was signed into law on Sept. 3, 1964, by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Exhibited archival materials include correspondence, photographs and memorabilia from the papers of Idaho politicians U.S. Sen. Frank Church and Gov. Cecil Andrus, as well as items from the collections of writers, photographers and scientists whose work focused on Idaho’s wilderness in the early to mid-20th century.
