About This Journal

International Journal of Undergraduate Community Engagement (IJUCE) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to the scholarship by undergraduates engaged in community-based research and/or service-learning. The Journal accepts submissions of research articles, reflective essays, photography, and original art from undergraduate students in all academic disciplines. Each submission must be the original work of undergraduate student or students. All submissions undergo a blind review by at least one faculty member from higher-education institutions. The faculty reviewers have expertise in disciplines closely related to those represented by the submission.

Thus, the purpose of the Journal is:

  • To encourage and showcase scholarly work by undergraduate students.
  • To provide an insightful learning experience for undergraduate students.
  • To promote community outreach by undergraduate students.
  • To advance undergraduate research in service-learning.
