Abstract
My wondering for this inquiry project is a question I have had for years, and as I spend more time in the classroom I realize that I am comfortable with formal assessment, but I have not had as much experience in using or even recognizing what informal assessment looks like or how it is used. I am also curious if informal assessment is used across all subjects or if there are some subjects that are more conducive to, or within which teachers seem to favor, informal assessment. In order for me to come up with some answers I conducted a survey with teachers of different grades at an elementary school and will hopefully gain some knowledge to help me fill in the gaps about what informal assessment looks like for all the different subjects, and in turn, improve my own practice and use of informal assessment.
