Summary & Purpose

Dry Creek Experimental Watershed (DCEW) provides long-term environmental time series data to support hydrometerologic, ecosystem and climate change research. Numerous theses and peer-reviewed publications have utilized this data. This dataset provides continuous hourly stream discharge data for seven stream flow measurement sites in DCEW.

Data Attributes

The seven sites are compiled into one dataset to support multi-site analyses. Sites are named as follows (lowest elevation to highest): Lower Gage (1036 m), Confluence 2 Main (1143 m), Confluence 2 East (1158 m), Confluence 1 East (1335 m), Confluence 1 West (1347 m), Treeline (1595 m), Bogus South Gage (1700 m). Coordinates for each site are provided in the section below. Lower Gage data is provided from February 1999, while the higher elevation sites provide data from summer 2004 or later. Treeline data is provided herein from fall 2006. Data gaps, including prior to data initiation, are represented in this published dataset using -6999 as hourly values. Research conducted at these higher elevation sites prior to 2004 (TL 2006) may provide streamflow data not provided in this dataset. This stream discharge data should be considered a modeled data product, derived through stage-discharge rating curve algorithms applied to hourly water level stage data.
