Abstract

The project goal was to investigate infrastructure and the environment. The group elected to study mitigation of vehicle emissions. A comparison was made between taxation and tree planting. We constructed an economic model of driving behavior and used it to predict the effects of an added cost, taxation, versus the costs and benefits of planting enough trees to mitigate vehicle emissions. We found that tree planting was a superior economic and environmental solution.
