Abstract

Due to rapid growth in the treasure valley, the Bureau of Water Reclamation and the Army Corp of Engineers have proposed the building of new dams at three possible sites along the Boise River. We analyzed the three possible sites and evaluated them according to their social, monetary, and environmental costs and benefits. We believe at this time, with the use of conservation and other methods, there is not a need for a new dam in the near future.
