Artist Statement

We often walk past a history within buildings without noticing the beauty within them, rather they be old or new. This set of photographs portray the unique beauty of each building as a whole without the expectation of them being either one hundred years old or built within the last year. Each building as an individual speaks of a history and can tell a story of such within the damage it illustrates. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have done my best in which to bring life and elegance back to these classical buildings in hopes to unveil the true attraction they once held. I have an eye for the more ancient and classic buildings that paint a story through its cracks and damages.

While wondering through the streets, I could not help but notice the difference in textures and colors each building held. I hope to capture the viewer’s attention within the detail in hopes that they too consider the small fine points they may have missed once before.

With time, I found I myself, started gravitating toward different buildings textures and found a more abstract view of which to photograph ach building.
